Tunisia–Jordan relations strengthen ahead of 2026 milestone
Tunisia and Jordan are strengthening their relations across several fields. These include politics, the economy, tourism, culture, and science.
This step was discussed in Amman. Tunisia’s ambassador, Moufida Zribi, met Ihsan Barakat. He leads the Jordan–Tunisia friendship group in the Jordanian Senate.
Both sides focused on stronger parliamentary cooperation. They also worked on a joint action plan for 2026. This year will mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Officials said Tunisia–Jordan relations have deep historical roots. They stressed the need to increase dialogue between parliaments. They also supported more exchange of legal and legislative expertise.
The two sides also discussed economic cooperation. They want to expand trade and support new joint projects. They also encouraged stronger private-sector partnerships.

Tourism and cultural exchange were also part of the talks. Both countries aim to increase cooperation in education and academic programs.
Members of the friendship group joined the meeting. They discussed regional and international issues. They agreed on the importance of coordination and regular consultation.
Both sides confirmed their support for dialogue-based solutions. They also stressed respect for national sovereignty. They said cooperation can help improve regional stability.
