Tunisian tennis player Moez Echargui has once again put his name in the spotlight after capturing the Saint-Tropez Challenger title in France on Sunday. Ranked 175th in the world, the 32-year-old delivered a commanding performance in the final, defeating Frenchman Dan Added (ATP No. 272) in straight sets. The victory marks his second Challenger trophy of the season, adding to his triumph earlier this year in Hersonissos, Greece.<\/p>

Echargui\u2019s success comes during a remarkable run of form that has transformed his career. Once a regular on the ITF World Tennis Tour, he has now established himself as a serious contender at the Challenger level, breaking into the ATP Top 200 for the first time and climbing toward a career-high ranking around No. 165. His consistency has also earned him the chance to represent Tunisia on the international stage, most recently in the Davis Cup.<\/p>

Born on 10 January 1993 in La Marsa, Echargui\u2019s path to the professional circuit has been anything but conventional. Before turning pro in 2016, he played college tennis in the United States at the University of Nevada, where he graduated with degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering. That background set him apart from many of his peers, but it wasn\u2019t until his late twenties and early thirties that he began to fully unlock his potential on court.<\/p>

Echargui also earned qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning gold at the African Games, securing his place as Tunisia\u2019s continental representative. For the Tunisian, stepping onto the Olympic stage and competing alongside his idol Rafael Nadal was a career-defining moment.<\/p>

Speaking recently about his surge, Echargui credited a shift in mindset as the catalyst for his success: focusing less on short-term results and more on enjoying the game, while building confidence one match at a time. That change has paid off, with multiple title runs in 2024\u20132025 confirming his growth as a player.<\/p>

With two Challenger titles already this year and momentum on his side, Echargui is now aiming to push further into the ATP rankings and continue flying the flag for Tunisia on the international tennis stage.<\/p>
