Pain Management and Women’s Health Free Conference in Carthage
A free conference entitled “Pain Management and Women’s Health” will take place on 19 December 2025 at 3:00 pm, at Espace Cinémadart, Carthage. The event aims to raise awareness, provide information, and empower women as well as health professionals around the specific challenges related to women’s pain.
Why a conference on women’s pain?
Pain is not experienced in the same way by everyone, and many studies show that women’s pain is often underestimated and less adequately managed by the medical system compared to men’s pain. This can lead to delays in treatment or inaccurate assessments.
Recent medical conferences, such as those organized by the French Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain, have highlighted gender disparities in pain management, drawing attention to conditions such as endometriosis or osteoarthritis in women.
From a neurobiological perspective, the perception and modulation of pain may differ between women and men, with consequences for subjective experience and therapeutic response.
Certain types of pain related to women’s health, such as pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, or vestibulodynia, require specific and personalized diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Objectives of the conference
The event aims to inform participants about the different types of pain affecting women, whether acute or chronic, as well as the physiological and hormonal mechanisms that influence them.
It also seeks to share knowledge, with health professionals presenting the latest advances in pain management, relief strategies, and therapeutic approaches adapted to women.
Another key objective is to raise awareness of the importance of equitable care, helping participants understand why the recognition and treatment of women’s pain must be adapted and free from bias.
Who is this event for?
This conference is open to everyone, particularly women who wish to better understand and manage their pain, health professionals seeking to deepen their clinical approach, students in health sciences, and professionals involved in well-being and psychological support.
