Tunis Elected Arab Tourism Capital for 2027
The Ministry of Tourism announced in a statement that Tunis has been elected the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027 on the occasion of the 28th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism held in Baghdad on December 9, 2025.
The ministry considered this recognition an Arab acknowledgment of the Tunisian capital’s attractive tourism assets, cultural and archaeological.
This designation, according to the statement, highlights the distinctiveness of Tunis in the fields of arts, crafts, heritage, and urban and architectural creativity, in addition to its joining UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network in 2026.
It should also be noted that Tunis was elected a member of the Executive Bureau and Vice President of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism at the conclusion of the 28th session’s work, which took place on December 8 and 9, 2025, in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.
