Tunisia Sees Tourism Growth
Tunisia’s tourism sector is experiencing a remarkable recovery following the pandemic. According to the National Tourist Office of Tunisia, the country welcomed over 7.16 million visitors between January and August 2025, marking an 8.3% increase compared to 2024 and a 13.8% rise relative to 2019, the pre-Covid benchmark year.
Foreign tourists make up the majority of arrivals, with visitors from the Maghreb totaling 3.72 million and Europeans showing strong growth with 2.22 million arrivals. Algeria and France remain the leading source markets, while emerging markets such as the United Kingdom and Ireland are recording impressive increases.
These figures highlight the renewed vitality of Tunisia’s tourism, driven by improved air connectivity, market diversification, and the implementation of a national strategy focused on quality, competitiveness, and sustainability in the sector.
