Free Access to Museums, Sites, and Monuments on Sunday, October 5, 2025

This Sunday, October 5, 2025, which marks the first Sunday of the month, visitors across Tunisia will enjoy free entry to all museums, archaeological sites, and historical monuments managed by the National Heritage Enhancement and Cultural Promotion Agency (AMVPPC).

The initiative offers free admission to both Tunisian citizens and foreign residents in Tunisia, allowing them to explore the country’s cultural and historical treasures without charge. This policy applies not only on the first Sunday of each month but also on public holidays, International Day for Monuments and Sites (April 18), and International Museum Day (May 18).

Visitors wishing to take advantage of this opportunity simply need to present their national ID card or residence permit. Opening hours may vary depending on the region and the specific site or museum.

The AMVPPC oversees the operation of numerous cultural landmarks throughout Tunisia, ensuring the preservation and promotion of the nation’s diverse heritage. The agency’s mission is to implement state policy in the cultural sector by highlighting Tunisia’s historical, archaeological, and artistic wealth.

Currently, the AMVPPC manages around sixty museums, historical monuments, and archaeological sites, including nine UNESCO World Heritage properties, reflecting the exceptional richness and depth of Tunisia’s cultural legacy.
